After twenty years working in theatre, Nadine’s career in sex education began with part-time job as a workshop facilitator. She quickly developed a passion for learning and teaching others about sexuality. She began leading more workshops, while studying everything she could about the ways and reasons people have sex.
Her combined experience in theatre and sex education eventually led to her position as the Program Coordinator for Insight Theatre, an educational program for teens at Planned Parenthood. She also found work as sexuality writer. Through her articles, advice column and blog, Nadine became known for her friendly, relatable approach to sexual subject matter. At Planned Parenthood, Nadine clearly saw the benefits of providing youth with factual, comprehensive information about sex and realized that this should be the focus of her career.
As an educator, Nadine knows the importance of being able to talk honestly and openly about sexuality. As a mother, she understands the desire for parents and educators to find effective ways of communicating with youth about sexual issues. Nadine is committed to making information about sexuality accessible to anyone that wants it. Years of experience have taught Nadine teaching young people about sex can be a very positive experience for everyone involved!
What began as a casual job nearly ten years ago, has now evolved into a full-time career. Nadine is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counsellors and Therapists; The Sexuality Information Council of Canada and The Centre For Sex Education. She holds a Doctor of Education in Human Sexuality, with a concentration in child and adolescent sexual development.
When she’s not working, Nadine enjoys adventures in the city with her husband and son, off-key crooning at karaoke, eating great food and watching reality television.
